✨ The Story Behind Caitlin's Cleaning Service
I realized I've never really shared the story of how my little cleaning business came to be, so I thought it was time to introduce myself and share a little of my journey. 🤍
In the fall of 2022, I was living in California with my then-husband of 17 years, who was serving in the Navy, and our three children.
Military life meant he was gone a lot, and like many moms, I had spent years putting everyone else's needs before my own.
I'll never forget the day I went to the grocery store to buy about $60 worth of groceries, and my card declined.
It was one of those moments that stays with you.
Something shifted in me that day. I knew I wanted to do something different, and I knew something needed to change.
Not long after, I noticed a few military spouses posting online looking for someone to clean their homes.
I thought, "Well, why not? I know how to clean!" 😂
So I gave it a shot.
One house turned into another. Then another. Before I knew it, word had spread throughout the military community, and I had somehow become known as "the cleaner" on base. 😂
People trusted me in their homes, recommended me to their friends, and kept me busier than I ever imagined.
What started as a way to make a little extra money slowly turned into something I never saw coming.
A real business. My business.
Fast forward to today, and Caitlin's Cleaning Service has grown into something I never could have imagined.
What started with a few military families in California has grown into a business serving families, homeowners, realtors, and businesses here in Ohio.
But what means the most to me isn't just how much the business has grown.
It's knowing that I built something from the ground up. No investors. No big business plan. Just determination, hard work, and people who believed in me enough to give me a chance.
Every client who has trusted me with their home, every realtor who has referred me, and every person who has recommended my business has played a part in this journey.
And for that, I am incredibly grateful.
Four years ago, I was standing in a grocery store with a declined card, knowing something in my life needed to change. Today, I own a thriving business I never imagined I'd have.
Sometimes the moments that make us feel the smallest are the very moments that push us toward something bigger.
