UnBoxed Recycling LLC offers door to door cardboard recycling for residential homes and small businesses. The company started from two parents wanting their young adult son Ashton to have meaningful employment despite his disabilities. Many of you will know him from the original UnBoxed Lebanon Tennessee name which started UnBoxing March of 2021. UnBoxed is growing and expanding (!), so this page
has been created to cover all the different ways potential can be UnBoxed! This has been an unbelievable journey, and we as parents (JC and Ashley), could not be more proud or in awe of everything this little box has accomplished! As of January 2023, Ashton has recycled over 50 tons of cardboard mainly from the Wilson County, TN area. Not only has this cardboard been a great part of a sustainable solution for recycling, but cardboard has been donated to local community gardens, and emergency community moving needs. As parents, we are so appreciative of our community supporting Ashton and the business! The relationships he has been able to build, and the pride he feels making a difference in the community and environment is AMAZING. There are still a lot of boxes to UnBox to determine all the pieces that fit best for this business, but here are some basics of the directions we would like to travel! Our first goal is to upgrade the recycling vehicle! Ashton will be able to hire a driver, and gain even more independence! Setting up the LLC, helps move this step a little closer to reality. Our next goal is a big one! Ashton would like to hire others in our community that identify as disabled. Employment options are often limited for this community, and he really wants to create a team that focuses on their strengths! Lots of research will go into how to expand outside our current community. We would really love to help create another avenue for meaningful employment. So, yes, UnBoxed is a recycling company, but it truly aims to UnBox the potential of so much more!
