As the nation approaches its 250th anniversary, the oak (our national tree) stands as a living emblem of America’s origins, closely tied to the life and legacy of George Washington. From the carefully tended grounds of Mount Vernon—where a great 18th-century oak once reflected his passion for stewardship—to the storied trees of the Revolution, these oaks witnessed defining moments of unity and resolve. In New Jersey, troops gathered beneath ancient branches that sheltered Washington and Lafayette, while in Princeton another enduring oak overlooks a battlefield where courage turned the tide of history. Washington’s early surveying work even left its mark on a Virginia oak that helped define the land itself, and his respect for trees endured wherever he traveled, famously sparing a grand southern oak from removal. Together, these historic trees embody the strength, resilience, and continuity of the American spirit, making the oak a fitting symbol as the country commemorates 250 years of independence.

Last week, Hans Fleischmann and Emmanuel Boudaric attended the 𝗪𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗣𝗔 (𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝘂𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 in Trinidad and gave a presentation on 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 and its subsidiaries to an audience of 90+ people representing 32 distilleries across 20 countries throughout the Caribbean and South America.

WIRSPA provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen professional relationships, build new connections, and deepen our engagement within the global spirits industry. We are proud to continue investing in long-term partnerships and demonstrating our commitment to supporting customers and producers across all markets.

New Riff Balboa Rye was recognized as one of Whisky Advocate’s Most Exciting Whiskies of the Year for 2025- comprised of a mashbill containing 5% malted rye and 95% Balboa rye. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a non-profit dedicated to building and delivering beds to children in need. Over the weekend 102 volunteers from our Engineering, Administration and Missouri Cooperage teams along with their families, built 60 beds and finished 100 for kids in the community who do not have a bed of their own.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share our craftsmanship and make a lasting impact to the communities we serve.
