If you were not able to listen to the show this morning, Today is bitter sweet for me. After 35 years of being an On-Air Personality,22 years as the host of the Saturday Morning Show, I have decided to take a step back. I appreciate all you that have made my show part of your weekend. I tried to play music that you wanted to hear at the same time give a variety. It always amazed me how many people listened over the years and I appreciate it more than you will ever know. I hope you will continue to listen as the new host, Mac will begin next week. Although, I will not be on every Saturday, the good news is I will be filling in from time to time. God Bless all of you. RIP Jesse McReynolds, one of the last of the first generation Bluegrass musicians who helped define the genre. We were very fortunate to have played many times over the years with Jesse and his brother Jim McReynolds and they were always wonderful. We always looked forward to seeing them. Jesse, of course, was such a groundbreaking musician, developing the first alternative mandolin style in Bluegrass (alt to Bill Monroe, of course), and it was a doozy--his crosspicking was jaw-dropping and immediately identifiable. Jesse was also a fine lead singer and sang most of Jim & Jesse's songs. This is a big loss for the Bluegrass world. Prayers for Joy and the extended McReynolds family.
