Senior Excellence, The Osage Way: Zander Burns

Zander is graduating in May from School of the Osage High School and proudly serving our country. Zander’s dad was in the Marines and his brother was in the Army, so the desire for service has always been present. Zander has committed to 4 years of active duty with the Marines. He will go to San Diego for basic training and then return to Missouri for AIT to be part of the military police where he can then be shipped wherever he is needed.

While at OHS, Zander has been involved in National Honor Society and track. Although this is Zander’s first year as an Indian, he said what stood out for him was, “Osage was pretty welcoming and made me feel right at home from day one.”

Zander, we can not be more grateful for your decision to serve our country and are proud you shared your senior year with us.

Birds of a feather | citizens answer their nation's call differently

Our scavenger hunt from last month's training brought us to Osage Beach Police Department - City of Osage Beach, Missouri. Our brothers and sisters in service might serve differently thank we do, but we all are proud to contribute to our communities safety. On recruiting duty, we're looking for the next generation of youth who can one day proudly serve as we do.

Salina Marines might be on fire, but we burn brighter!

Sector training took us to Lake Ozark Fire Protection District where we got to meet some of the brave men and women that keep us safe. The goal of our training day was to get into the community and get to know the locals we live and work amongst. Marines come from all over the world, but we were fortunate to end up here!
