🚨🔥 BURN BAN & RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT 🔥🚨

⚠️ Rapides Parish Fire District 18 wants to remind everyone to use extreme caution with outdoor activities due to the current burn ban and Red Flag Warning.

Dry conditions, low humidity, and strong winds can cause fires to start easily and spread rapidly, putting homes, property, and lives at risk.

🚫 Please help us keep our community safe:

* ❌ Do not burn trash, brush, leaves, or debris.
* ❌ Avoid outdoor burning of any kind while the burn ban is in effect.
* 🚬 Do not toss cigarette butts onto the ground or out of vehicle windows.
* 🔥 Avoid activities that could create sparks, including welding or operating equipment that produces sparks near dry vegetation.
* 🚒 Report any uncontrolled fire immediately by calling 911.

A small fire can quickly turn into a large wildfire under these conditions. Please take this warning seriously and help protect our firefighters, neighbors, and community.

🙏 Our firefighters are always ready to respond, but prevention starts with YOU!

Please share this post to help spread the word!

🚒🔥 Fire Prevention at Our Local Elementary School! 🔥🚒

Yesterday, members of Rapides Parish Fire District 18 had the opportunity to visit Carter C Raymond Junior High for fire prevention! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

We enjoyed spending time with the students, teaching them important fire safety tips, and helping them understand what to do in case of a fire. From learning about smoke alarms and having a home escape plan to knowing when and how to call 911, these lessons can make a lifesaving difference!

A big thank you to the school staff for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to work with these amazing students. We love being part of our community and helping keep our families safe! ❤️

Remember, fire safety starts with education! 🧯🚨

🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the countless first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away.

We honor the 343 firefighters of the FDNY, 23 NYPD officers, 37 Port Authority officers, and all of the police officers, EMTs, paramedics, military members, and civilians who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication will never be forgotten.

From one fire family to another — we remember. We honor. We will never forget.

🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 — Forever in our hearts. 🚒
