Man, Ben and Remy killed it on this sign restoration! They spent hours rebuilding the electrical, measuring for new neon (thanks Gama Neon), removing old paint, replacing crusty housings and transformers, creating new panels…I could go on an on. The result is this gorgeous old sign shining again, for the first time in more than 20 years. Thanks fellas, proud of the skill, problem solving and patience you have! Wanna see it in person? Gotta head to the The Independence Square.

We never like taking down a sign. Especially one a good as this one! But, plans change and opportunity shows itself in different ways. Johnny Jo's Pizzeria is moving to the campus of Avila University. So, the guys moved this beauty to its new location. Best of success to you!

What a peacock of a sign! Well, actually it’s a scarlet macaw of a sign! This beauty now shines over the El Pico Mexican Restaurant on the Independence Square. The old sign had done its duty and was ready to go. Lots of colors of neon make this an eye popper. Hand-painted graphics add an old school feel. No vinyl on this baby! Thanks to Gama Neon for the glasswork and Genesis Powder Coating for the base finish!

Some days we put them up and take them down. Ben and the guys installed lots of letters at Integrated Openings Solutions. Two big signs, lots of drilling and getting the pattern perfect. Then, over to take down the Grains & Taps sign. Always tough to remove a sign for a business that meant so much to so many.

Under a September sun. The fellas worked hard and sweated today from morning to evening. We started the painting for some ‘ghost’ signs at the new Chef J BBQ in North Kansas City. The concrete block sure soaked up the paint. This evening, Ben and Remy helped our friends at FASTSIGNS to install a new sign for The Yard Gym. How Remy crawled in the opening to finish the wiring is beyond me!

What an honor to be included in Missouri Main Street Connection, Inc. 20th anniversary book! What a fantastic organization doing so much for the cities, towns and districts across our state. Huge thanks to Phil Eich for his beautiful photos and wonderful words. I gotta admit, they choked me up on the first read. And, to Ben W**e for his partnership, direction and friendship to help take Fossil Forge to places we have dreamed. More signs are on the way, lighting a bright path for Downtown Lee's Summit!
