We’ve had quite a few DIYers inquiring about micro cement lately.
The best advice I can give anyone interested in taking on this type of finish is to practice.
Get a scrap piece of plywood or drywall and familiarize yourself with the product and the tools to apply it.
Don’t hesitate to ask questions. Learn the different types of trowels and how and when to use them.
Have the proper mixing equipment ( no battery powered drills )
If you practice you should do fine with micro cement.
It’s a great product to work with.
Pro tip,
Read the TDS (technical data sheets ) for vital information in regards to the products that you are attempting to use.

Look for
margin trowels
Magnesium trowels
Finish trowels
Bucket
Drill and mixing paddle
Or a mixer.
Plastic measuring cup in quarts for water.
Gloves

These are your basics to get started.
You should try to be profecient at using these tools prior to starting a job in your home. Remember, practice and practice some more.
It’s a whole lot easier and much cheaper to start a job with understanding vs hope.
