Stone Tower Winery is a family-owned and operated winery, where our magnificent views and premium wines are equally matched by impeccable hospitality. Working with a team of top-notch viticulturists, soil specialists, and oenologists, we've created 95 acres of stunning vineyards atop Hogback Mountain in Leesburg, VA. Join us for our third annual Turkey Trek held on Wednesday, November 25th, at the Harvest Barn! The 1.5-mile path will take you through the vineyards and property. Enjoy a cup of hot apple c***r and an apple c***r donut upon completion of your trek! Families and dogs are welcome.

After the trek, attendees are welcome to sit back and relax at our Harvest Barn Tasting Room, where food and w**e will be available for purchase until 3:30 pm.

Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Loudoun Hunger Relief. We will also collect canned goods donations at check-in.

October is Virginia W**e Month! Did you know that Virginia’s first planted vines date back to the early 1600s, and settlers in Jamestown were each required to tend to 10 acres of vines? We are continuing that tradition today, with beautiful single-varietal Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier (Virginia state grape!), Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, as well as many other single-varietal w**es and sophisticated blends we produce on our estate. Harvest starts long before the sun comes up! 🌙🍇

Much of our picking takes place in the early morning hours, while the team can still take advantage of the cooler temperatures.

To make those pre-dawn picks a little brighter, our Vineyard Shop team came up with a lit canopy that attaches right to the harvest wagon, giving the crew light as they work their way through the vines.

Here they are putting it to good use during this morning’s pick! Harvest ingenuity at its finest. 💡🍇

🍇 Happy w**emakers = a happy harvest! 🍷

We’re officially in the throes of processing Merlot, our first reds to come in this harvest, and the fruit is looking beautiful!

Between yesterday and today, we harvested 10 tons of Merlot, with another 20 or so still to come this week. Altogether, that’s enough fruit to produce just shy of 2,000 cases of w**e!

Some of this Merlot will shine on its own, while plenty will find its way into the blends of some of our flagship w**es. Watch the merlot head into the tank for fermenation, between 6-8 tons per tank.

And we’re just getting started… Cabernet Franc is up next, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. We’re also hearing that the Nebbiolo is looking especially beautiful on the vine this year. 👀🍇

Harvest is in full swing, and there’s a lot to be excited about in the cellar!

Happy International Cabernet Sauvignon Day! We are getting ready to harvest this remarkable varietal in about 3 weeks. We're expecting to harvest around 5 tons of grapes from Block X - the equivalent of about 2 adult elephants', or 40 baby elephants' weight! Cabernet Sauvignon is a "child" of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, and is considered the most tannic out of the major red grapes. On our estate, we grow 18.3 acres of this varietal. We use it to make our flagship red blend, Hogback Mountain, as well as to produce single-varietal bottlings.
