Hey all! Just a few updates:

We are still working on getting the machine fixed! 🎉 But, due to some life circumstances (I, Caron, am moving!), we'll be selling it once it's fixed! 😭 Are you interested in owning your own machine? It is a HandiQuilter Fusion with automated edge to edge or per square sewing capabilities. The frame is 13'x4', so it will fit a California King on there if needed. Let me know if this would be something you are interested in! ☎️

However, we are getting another one! 🥳 It will be located here in Utah, and Evelyn will be taking over the quilting until I can get another machine and join her. We'll need some training, but will hopefully be ready to take on quilting projects soon. Her amazing work is in a lot of the pictures we post! 🤩Think of us in a few months if you need some quilting done!

I just did a paper piecing quilt block, and I love it! What do you think?!
Have you ever done paper piecing? It's almost foolproof, but takes some getting used to. You print pages with the pattern, and sew the fabric directly onto the back of the paper pattern using a very short stitch length. Then, when completed, you tear the paper out, leaving the fabric behind perfectly placed. This cute little fox was a pattern I purchased on etsy, and it came with the pattern pieces as well as instructions. And I am in love! ❤🦊

Major quilting fail! 😥My machine has died (temporarily, I hope!), and my(Caron) entry to the Utah State Fair quilt challenge was to be turned in today.

So, in all its unfinished glory, I thought I'd share it here. The theme is "kiss and teal"💋, and we were given a fat quarter of the teal fabric you see here. Half of that (198 square inches) must show on the face of the quilt. I was naming it " 'Tealing hugs and kisses" . I'm afraid I over inflated my x's o's to meet the requirements, and overall, I'm not super happy with my outcome this year, despite the large amounts of graph paper sacrificed to the cause. Oh well. Next year, right?

Thankfully, Evelyn is still in the running and hers is BEAUTIFUL! I'm really excited to share it. She has put a lot of planning, effort, time, and creativity into it and I hope it gets recognition!! 🏆

If you want to join in the Utah State Fair quilting challenge next year, go early to the fair, they run out quickly! In the quilt building, you can purchase a fat quarter for $2, and keep the receipt and rule sheet! Then you follow the rules (size and display requirements, no raw edges, etc) and submit your entry with your receipt from the year before to be entered. There are a few prizes, but do it for the glory!!
