On December 18, 2025 DTZ Contracting, Inc completed a full septic field reconstruction for the Weis Markets Corporation at their Brodheadsville, PA store #151.

This project involved the careful removal and replacement of existing septic field components from two fields totaling 8,000sqft. The work was performed efficiently to minimize disruption to daily operations of the store.

DTZ Contracting, Inc. would like to thank all trucking partners, material suppliers, and most importantly George's Sewer and Drain Cleaning LLC for keeping a total of 100,000 gallons of effluent pumped and disposed of during the reconstruction of the systems. A little throwback to October 10, 2025. This customer was battling issues with their septic mound for a few years, he called us in to diagnose the problem. Major wet areas were found in the cover soil, we performed a few test digs and discovered saturation between the sand and stone layers.

Upon further investigation we had found out that the customer had high levels of iron bacteria in their well water, which this bacteria had taken over all of the good bacteria that are necessary for a healthy functioning septic system. The customer is taking care of the water issue, 12” of sand was removed and reinstalled, new stone and new piping and they are good to go! 🦠🚽
