Storms may bring strong winds and heavy rain late today.

• WHEN: The main line is expected around 3–6 p.m. Central today, with spotty showers lingering into Thursday morning.

• RISK: Grayson County is in a Level 2 of 5 severe-weather risk.

• THREATS: Strong wind gusts, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours are possible.

• RAIN: Widespread 0.50–1.50 inches; the highest 2–5-inch corridor is favored farther north near I-64.

Slow moving front will bring widespread rainfall of 0.5" - 1.0" across the area with localized 2"-4" possible. Heaviest rainfall will likely occur with the strong storms Wednesday afternoon/evening.

Stay weather aware tomorrow. Have a plan for getting to higher ground if you live/work in areas prone to flooding.

Even though it will be warm and sunny today (Tuesday), clouds and rain return moving slowly in from the northwest. Localized flash flooding is possible in areas shaded in yellow on Wednesday, with some areas receiving as much as 2-4" by the evening. Areas further south and east may not get as much rain, especially towards Lake Cumberland where little to no rain may fall.
