We’re excited to have Joe McArdle join the Southwind team as Vice President!

Joe brings experience from organizations ranging from startups to some of the world’s largest companies, including Target, Amazon and Walmart. Through it all, one thing has remained consistent: his passion for building and growing people and organizations.

Outside of work, Joe and his wife are busy raising four kids — all currently in high school. He’s also setting his sights on a big personal goal: after receiving an artificial hip earlier this year, Joe plans to put it to the test by training for and running a marathon in 2028.

We’re glad to have you with us, Joe, and excited for what’s ahead!

Fall Summit 2026 is wrapping up in Kansas City, and the last two days have been a great reminder of what happens when we get our people together.

There’s been plenty of learning, but some of the best moments have happened between the sessions — conversations, new connections, shared ideas and time spent with teammates from across Southwind.

Thank you to everyone who made the trip and brought their energy to Summit.

Fall Summit 2026 is officially underway in Kansas City.

Day 1 is all about bringing our people together — connecting, learning, challenging each other and continuing to build what’s next for Southwind.

This year, we’re focused on a simple idea:

What we do is who we are.

And there’s no better way to bring that to life than having our teams together in one room.

Please join us in congratulating Bryce Atagi on his promotion to VP of Learning & Development at Southwind!

Bryce has spent over 10 years with our team, most recently as Director of Performance, where he led our Service Delivery launch, helped transform our Apex franchises, and built Core 4, a foundational leadership system that teaches our leaders not just the systems behind the business, but how to show up as leaders. In his new role, he'll lead a newly created Learning & Development function built to support our people as we continue growing through acquisition, welcoming brands like 1-800-GOT-JUNK and Shack Shine into the Southwind family.

One of the best parts of Core 4 is bringing people together from across Southwind who may work in different businesses, markets, and roles — but are all part of what we’re building together.

This week, several members of our team traveled in from around the country for Core 4, and this morning they joined us for All Hands.

It’s an opportunity to step outside the day-to-day, connect with people from across the organization, hear directly from leadership, and better understand the values and expectations that shape how we operate.

As Southwind continues to grow, investing in our people and creating these shared experiences only becomes more important. Core 4 is one of the ways we make sure that growth is matched by stronger connections, greater alignment, and a shared understanding of how we move forward together.

Meet Sloan Herron, a senior at St. Teresa’s Academy who spent her summer gaining experience across two important areas of Southwind: Sales and Employer Branding.

On the sales side, Sloan gained firsthand experience communicating with customers and learning what goes into building strong relationships. In employer branding, she helped capture what makes Southwind, Southwind — from our people and culture to the stories that bring it all to life.

For Sloan, the summer was about jumping in, asking questions, trying new things, and discovering what she enjoys along the way. Her internship gave her the opportunity to experience different parts of the business while getting a firsthand look at what it takes to grow a company and the culture behind it.

We’re glad Sloan chose to spend her summer with us, and we have a feeling this is just the beginning.

This week, we’re highlighting Jack Dean, a student at Missouri State whose hard work and dedication have made a lasting impact on Southwind.

Jack’s internship gave him the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, collaborate with our finance team, and continue developing his skills in a real-world environment. His commitment and strong work ethic stood out from day one and we’re excited to share that he’s recently made the transition from intern to full time teammate!

Jack’s journey is a great example of how internships can open the door to long-term career opportunities. We’re proud to have him on the team and look forward to seeing all he accomplishes in his new role.
