Retirement isn't just about how much you've saved. It's about how you turn those savings into income that lasts.

You've worked hard for decades building your retirement savings, but have you thought about how you'll turn those savings into a reliable income stream?

Having a plan for how and when to withdraw your money can be just as important as saving it in the first place.

I wanted to share this short video on retirement income planning because it's a conversation I believe more people should be having, especially those within 5–10 years of retirement.

If you're approaching retirement and wondering whether you're financially prepared, I'd be happy to have a conversation.

Do you understand your retirement options? Working with a professional can help you understand the risk and reward associated with retirement strategies.

Retirement could last 20, 30, or even more years. That’s a long time for your money to support you.

Even if retirement is only a few years away, there may still be opportunities to strengthen your plan.

It’s not just about how much you’ve saved. It’s also about making smart decisions around Social Security, Medicare, taxes, investments, and how you’ll create income once the paycheck stops.

You don’t need a perfect plan. You need a plan that can adjust as your life changes.

If retirement is getting closer and you’re wondering whether you’re truly prepared, let’s talk.

Turning 65 is a big Medicare milestone, but don’t assume everything happens automatically.

For most people, the Initial Enrollment Period is a 7-month window — beginning 3 months before the month you turn 65, including your birthday month, and continuing for 3 months afterward.

But here’s where it gets important: not everyone needs to enroll at 65. If you’re still working and covered by an employer health plan, different rules may apply.

The key is understanding your options before your enrollment window arrives so you can avoid unnecessary penalties or gaps in coverage.

If you’re approaching 65 and have questions about Medicare and how it fits into your retirement plan, let’s talk.

When should you claim Social Security? 62? Full Retirement Age? 70?

There isn’t one right answer for everyone.

The right strategy depends on your retirement income needs, other assets, whether you’re still working, your marital situation, and your overall retirement plan.

Claiming earlier gives you income sooner. Waiting can increase your monthly benefit. The important part is understanding the trade-offs before you make the decision.

Social Security is more than just checking a box when you retire. It’s one piece of your overall retirement income strategy.

If you’re getting closer to retirement and aren’t sure when you should claim, let’s talk.

Medicare can feel like learning a whole new language — Part A, Part B, Part C, Part D… and then there are Supplement plans.

If you’re approaching 65, understanding the basics ahead of time can make the transition a lot easier.

The important thing is knowing what each part covers, when you need to enroll, and how Medicare fits into your overall retirement plan. Missing certain enrollment windows can also lead to penalties or gaps in coverage.

You don’t have to become a Medicare expert. You just need to understand your options well enough to make an informed decision.

Turning 65 soon or have questions about Medicare? Let’s talk.

Did you know that up to 85% of your Social Security benefits may be taxable?

A lot of people assume their taxes will automatically drop once they retire. But income from Social Security, traditional IRAs and 401(k)s, pensions, and other sources can all affect your tax picture.

That’s why I believe tax planning should be part of retirement planning before you retire — not after.

Understanding where your retirement income will come from can help you make smarter decisions about when and where to take withdrawals.

The goal isn’t just to build your retirement savings. It’s to be thoughtful about how you use them.

Have questions about how your retirement income could be taxed? Let’s talk.

You may be retired from your job, but unfortunately, taxes don’t retire with you.

Where your retirement income comes from matters. Withdrawals from traditional retirement accounts, Social Security, pensions, investments, and Roth accounts can all be treated differently from a tax standpoint.

That’s why retirement planning shouldn’t just focus on how much you’ve saved. It should also consider which accounts you draw from, when you draw from them, and the potential tax impact.

A little planning before retirement can give you more options once you’re there.

If you’re approaching retirement and have questions about how taxes fit into your income strategy, let’s talk.
