Wednesday afternoon till Thursday morning🌨️🌨️🌨️
UPDATED Feb 12th 8am.
UPDATE: For social media ease I have swapped out my original pic on this post for this updated snow map. I don't want the confusion of multiple snow maps around social media. For transparency my original before my updated ranges will be in the comments 🙂

SNOW TIME!!! Posted 12am Tuesday, February 11th, 2025.
Our first big storm of the season is about to barrel through the state! Expect heavy snow, poor travel conditions, low visibility, and a lot of shoveling.
Timing wise, snow will start to fly between 1-4pm Wednesday for most of Michigan. The further east you are the later it'll be. Most of the snow will be gone by about 8am Thursday, but some spots may hold onto it until about 10am.
Freezing rain in the green highlighted area (pretty much just Detroit and Monroe County) has the best chances of occurring between 10pm and 4am. Some spots MAY get 1/4" of icing. That could lead to some power outages and certainly some nasty roadways. Hopefully we'll get a little snow first so the snow absorbs it and provides some traction.
Snow rates could be 1 to 1.5" per hour. It'll be hard for plows to keep up with that. Hopefully with roads being empty overnight they can do better than if it were in the daytime, though.
Winds could gust 25-30mph. Of course, this would reduce visibility, cause some drifting, and impede travel even more. The winds will be out of the northeast then turn northwest as the low pressure center moves to our south.
That brings me to the big red dotted area... lake enhancement, thanks Lake Huron! With winds off the water we could have a few extra inches of accumulations in the red areas which includes pretty much the entire Lake Huron shoreline.
I think the Wednesday evening commute and Thursday morning commutes will be garbage.
