Metro Door is seeking to hire a Project Estimator to join our high performing team and meet the demands of our growing business.
The Project Estimator is responsible for coordinating activities concerned with the design and construction of custom-made service doors for each individual customer need. This role will participate in the conceptual development of an installation project and oversee its organization, scheduling and implementation. We are offering a $2,500 sign on bonus if you are hired for this job. The first $1,250 will be paid on the your first check and the remaining $1,250 will be paid to you on your 90th day at the company.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Take customer requests and develop product configuration to meet customer requirements.
- Generate shop drawings for all takeoffs for customer review and approval.
- Quick problem identification, root cause analysis and resolution skills.
- Diagnose and solve all technical issues on projects at all stages:
- Preliminary – working with customer / GC's to get them the correct product
- Construction – working with GC's and technicians to get proper dimensions and troubleshoot any site issues.
- Post Construction – diagnose and work out and operation issues with customer
- Work with new and potential customers in developing product solutions.
- Conduct site visits with new customers to review site conditions and product.
- Generate corporate office change orders and installer purchase orders within B1.
- Review/Prepare responses with Account Manager to customer RFQ’s.
- Providing a positive company image to internal/external customers.
Other duties assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:
Project management experience, at least 2 years preferred.
At least an Associate’s Degree is required and a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
Ability to read blueprints, required.
Capable of performing estimates, required.
Able to produce customer approval drawings in AutoCAD.
Proficiency in: AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Lotus Notes, SAP B1, preferred.
Time Management skills: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
Excellent Customer Service skills.
Committed and flexible team player.
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, technology driven, service environment.
Strong work history and positive references from former employers.
Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs and across remote offices.
High School Diploma or GED is required.
The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
