This scholarship honors the legacy of Henry Banks and his dedication, commitment, and passion for becoming an EMT. This afternoon around 130 pm the Rescue Co was alerted to assist Decatur Fire Co with a MVA with entrapment on the 4100 block of US 522 N. The rescue co checked responding and was advised that the caller reported driver was entrapped in an overturned vehicle. With this information the Squad Co responded shortly after the rescue with additional manpower. Captain 5 arrived confirming the 911 pre arrival report advising the rescue he wanted the vehicle stabilized and drivers side to go. The rescue and squad companies arrived and assisted Co 5 and 42 with popping both drivers side doors. At which time the drivers seatbelt was cut and she was placed on a backboard and transferred to ems. Co 5’s squad arrival to extrication 13 min. Great job to all involved. We wish a speedy recovery to the driver of the vehicle. Co 15 manpower 7

🚑 HONORING HENRY BANKS’ LEGACY 🚑

This scholarship was created to honor Henry’s legacy and his dedication to serving others. Henry worked hard to earn his EMT certification because he wanted to be there for people in some of their most difficult and vulnerable moments. His commitment to helping others is a part of the legacy he leaves behind, and we hope this scholarship will allow that legacy to continue through someone else.

The Henry Banks EMT Scholarship Fund will cover the entire cost of the EMT class — $1,600!

Our hope is that this opportunity will help someone take the same step Henry once took and begin their own journey of serving their community, helping others, and making a difference when it matters most.

The officers and members of the Junction Fire Co were extremely honored to have been asked to participate in supplying the arch for Chief Bartlett’s funeral yesterday. ***Chief Barlett Funeral Services Information***

Services for Chief Robert "Bob" Barlett are as follows.

Viewing: Wednesday, September 30th, 6pm - 8pm at the King-Barr Funeral Home on Logan Street in Lewistown.

Funeral: Thursday, October 1st, 11am at the King-Barr Funeral Home with a grave side service to follow at the Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery.

A Funeral Procession will take place following the Thursday Services at King-Barr Funeral Home, beginning at the Funeral Home, proceeding past the City Firehouse, through town to the Cemetery.

Fire Apparatus is invited to attend. Overflow parking will be available at the Church of Christ (former Calvary Bible Church) located on South Pine Street.
