** LLA MARKET REPORT ** MAY 19, 2026 **

Hello Central Montana & Beyond! A little moisture over the weekend sure settled the dust and slowed down trailer traffic just a bit – we ended up with just shy of 500 head of cattle on our May 19th sale with a about 50% of the auction consisting of weigh up cows and bulls. Cow market was pretty steady across the board with the exception of the heavier feeding cows which sold a touch softer due to a lower volume of that class. Bulls sold higher, with more high-yielding bulls on hand – they topped at $243 with a lot of those hard, lean bulls with a lot of muscle and no fill bringing $225-237. We had a small run of cow-calf pairs that sold with relatively good demand, topping at $4,600 on a ring full of younger cows with late-April heifer calves at side. Bred cows also held steady demand, compared to the rest of the spring with most May and June calvers landing from $3,200-3,800 regardless of age.
May 26th is our last regular Tuesday sale before we hit our summer schedule! We’ll sell every-other-week in June, with NO SALE on June 2nd. PLEASE NOTE – our spring Sheep & Horse Sale will be on June 23rd, in conjunction with an All-Class Cattle Sale. Keep an eye out for our summer schedule flyer in your mailbox soon! ** LLA MARKET REPORT ** MAY 12,2026 **

Hello Central Montana & Beyond! Nearly 1,100 head of cattle and a full day of selling, with right at 200 pairs, 130 bred cows, 130 feeder cattle, 375 weigh-ups and 45 breeding bulls for our Last Chance All-Breeds Bull Sale! Cattle market was strong given the environmental conditions at the moment. Pairs topped at $5,500 on first-calf Red Angus heifer pairs with steer calves at side. Eight-year-old Angus cows with February calves brought $5,100. Most of the younger pairs landed over $4,000, while most older pairs were in the mid to high $3000’s, as high as $3,900. Bred Cows calving in May held firm and mostly came in small packages – solid mouth and short-term cows were pretty much all over the $3,000 mark. Young cows and bred heifers chased near $4,000. We had a good turnout of good quality breeding bulls on hand for the All-Breeds Bull Sale – they averaged nearly $5,000 - that’s up almost $2,000 over last year. Turn-out cows, feeding cows and slaughter cows were all sold on steady markets. Heiferettes continue to charge beyond the $300/cwt mark, topping at $350 Tuesday. Feeding cows topped at $195, bulls topped at $225.

Next week, Feeder Special on May 19th. We’ll have an all-class cattle sale on May 26th, and that will be our final regular Tuesday sale as we begin our summer schedule. Thank you for bringing business our way! ~Kyle Shobe

** LLA MARKET REPORT ** APR 28, 2026 **
It has looked a little nostalgic around here all week, as the hillside has been full of good looking Hereford cattle!
Hello Central Montana & Beyond-- This week was a Feeder Special and we had a pretty solid lineup of pairs and bred cows, led off by the J.E. McCollum Estate Dispersion from Utica. The tally was 1,053 head at the end of the day and markets are keeping their footing and then some! Feeder cattle were fully steady to firm compared to those markets over the past month. 7-weight steers coasted as high as $404 and 5-weights topped at $525! We sold several sets of open replacement heifers – they brought from $3,185 to $3,550/hd. Feeder and grass heifers were also solid – high-5-weights were in the $430’s and 6-weights were mostly $385 – 400/cwt. Young Angus cow-calf pairs topped at $4,250 and short term black cows with big Charolais-cross calves at side brought $4,000. We had an incredible amount of interest in the horned Hereford cows off the McCollum Ranch. 54 pairs of all ages sold in one shot for $4,050. Stock cows were in good demand and we had a nice run of May calvers on tap. Price range was mostly $3,500 - $4,000 for anything solid mouth and younger. Heiferettes are still commanding solid money. The cow market was higher again, and more consistent from top to bottom. $180-194 caught the best end of the feeding cows.
May 5th is a regular All-Class Cattle Sale and May 12th is our next Bred & Pair Special, and Last Chance All-Breeds Bull Sale. We’ll have our summer schedule out soon! Thank you for bringing business our way! ~Kyle Shobe

**LLA MARKET REPORT ** APR 21, 2026 **

Hello Central Montana & Beyond! Another nice spring-time run of cattle here Tuesday with just under 600 head of all classes. Slaughter and feeding cows were higher by $3-5, topping at $194, with continued strong demand from both Canadian and U.S. buyers on cows headed to feed. Heiferettes were fully steady, topping at $370 and mostly bringing $300-350/cwt for the true wet-bag two’s. Slaughter bulls were fully steady. We did have a heavy muscled Piedmontese bring $245 to top the bull trade! Most bulls were $210-225. We had a light run of pairs and over 80 head of bred cows. They all found good demand, relative to their quality. Bred cows middle-age and younger were mostly $4,050-4,400 if calving in May. No market test on feeder cattle.

Feeder Special on April 28th. Our next Stock Cow Central Pair & Bred Sale will be May 12th, along with our Last Chance All-Breeds Bull Sale. More details on the website. Thank you for bringing business our way! ~Kyle Shobe
