Ever wondered what IP55, IP66, or IP67 actually mean?

An IP (Ingress Protection) rating tells you how well an enclosure is protected against solid particles such as dust and water.

The first digit represents protection against solids and dust, while the second digit represents protection against water.

For example, IP66 means:
• 6 — Dust-tight protection
• 6 — Protection against powerful water jets

A higher IP rating isn't automatically "better" for every application. The right choice depends on the actual installation environment—indoor, outdoor, dusty, wet, or exposed to harsh weather.
