Identity.

Our identity, who we are is, coming under attack every day. We are constantly being told who we are; by society, our jobs, our bosses, family and friends.

But who are you really? Who has the time, or inclination, to really ask themselves? And what if we don’t like the answer.

Whether you take the time to ask or not, you will be defined, but it’s best to choose who, rather than what, determines that for you.

At Four Stones Left, we’ve asked that question a time or two and found the search for who defines us is critical. It’s critical for ourselves and those who depend on us…our family, friends, associates. We can help you ask that question and find your identity.

So, what is a Life & Mental Health Coach anyway?

Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

It is a peer-to-peer relationship, one of equality, rather than a counseling relationship that is more of an expert-to-client one. Coaching additionally focuses on the present and future, where a counselor spends more time examining the past, looking for solutions to mental, emotional, relational or behavioral concerns.

I personally, like to think of coaching in terms of a guide as well. A guide may know the way, but they are walking on the path with you. I haven't "arrived" my journey is still ongoing. I've just been down a path or two and can share some things that have helped and hurt.

We all need help from time-to-time and we need each other. Remember, it's not good to battle alone.

The story of Four Stones Left is derived from the story of David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17:40). David chose five smooth stones from the stream and put them in his pouch as he approached Goliath.

David was a shepherd and obviously adept at using a sling and stone…a warrior’s trait. And like all good warriors who choose “five smooth stones” he was prepared for this battle and those to come. He used one stone for this battle, leaving four stones left for future battles.

He also had something else going for him, he wasn’t battling alone. David walked into this battle with God on his side.

Four Stones Left was born in this spirit, specifically with this story in mind. Walking with God into our battles, but something more can be said here. It’s obviously not good to battle alone. It sounds good in the movies, but it leaves you vulnerable.

At Four Stones Left, we are here to battle with you whether it is in the personal business, or mental health arena.
