Someone asked me why a custom made pen is so expensive.

Usually $125-$200 depending on what "kit" is used.
1- Kits cost on average $22-$40
2-CA Due is stupid expensive $47
3-Blanks cost anywhere from $10-$35 each and on acrylic they blow out and you have=to start over with another one each time that happens.
4-The Lathe wasn't cheap
5- Drill press with every bit known to man
6- Pen Press
7-Every Bushing you could ever need and you still end up having to buy another for that unique pen
8- It does take time,

So when a pen maker asks $125 for a pen, and cost of materials is $60 ( if no acrylic explosions) plus time and equipment, have some empathy.
