Tom Brown is one of my absolute favorite people I’ve been working with for more than a decade. He’s been on every side, the food side, the distributor side, and the admin side.
He just loves to serve people and he’s also been a champion for a family business like ours. I’m going to miss working with him but he has definitely put in a LOT of time to make the State Parks of Kentucky a more enjoyable (and tasty) place to go.
As Tom Brown retires as Food Services Director for the State Park System, we want to take a moment to reflect on his incredible impact, especially here at Carter Caves. Anytime we needed help, Tom was there, ensuring we had the equipment and tools necessary to succeed. He took the time to teach our cooks and made sure our large functions were handled just right.
Tom wasn’t the kind of director who just gave orders—he rolled up his sleeves and worked the line alongside our team. And let’s not forget, he made a pretty good cinnamon roll too!
We’re going to miss Tom tremendously. He was more than just a director—he was a teammate and a friend to us all. Wishing you the very best in your retirement, Tom. You’ve earned it!
