If you like fast horses and would like to see live racing back across Montana now is our chance!
The Montana Racehorse Owners and Breeders Coalition (MROBC) is a new group rallying in support of resurrecting live horse racing across Montana. We believe a racing tradition dating back to the 1860's is worthy of preserving. We hope you agree because we need your time and financial support as the Montana Board of Horse Racing seeks to utilize Historical Racing electronic pari-mutual wagering terminals in 2019.
Historical Horse Racing has been a game changer and a lifeline that is resurrecting racing across America. The success story is impressive but none more than the Breeder Program in Wyoming. Where all tracks are back racing and the Breeder program in Wyoming distributed $1.7 million to Wyoming breeders in 2017. Wyoming has achieved all this after only 5-6 year of Historical Horse racing Wagering.
The MROBC is seeking to raise at least $15,000 prior to January 2019 to hire an Executive Director. Former State Senator and businessman Scot Boulanger has agreed to be the voice of the coalition for the 2019 legislative session. MROBC will be a collective voice as the MBOHR looks to add the definition of Historical Racing to the MCA 23-4-101 under definitions and under MCA 23-4-105 oversight authority. A recent financial analysis produced by Tom Tucker, the Executive Director of the Montana Board of Horse Racing estimates with only 500 HHR racing terminals it will provide $510,375 for the MBOHR and could fund up tp 38 additional racing days.
The opportunity is here, a century and a half of horse racing tradition is part of our heritage and our Montana legacy. With your help and financial support we can make sure Montana will always be a place where families can enjoy a warm afternoon of fast horses, breeders will re-emerge and flourish, and the race horse industry will continue to contribute to our agricultural traditions.
We encourage you to contact us and join our vision.
