A couple of building pads we did this week! Slightly different scales, one had 15 tons of compacted rock, the other had 290 tons of compacted rock. In both cases, compaction and grade were very important. If your contractor is not properly compacting the base under your building, it can lead to failures later. Skid loaders or dozers are not compactors!

A few weeks ago, we sold our Case CX60 with the intention of finding a slightly bigger machine to suit loading the dump truck better and handling bigger jobs more efficiently. About a week ago, Roland Equipment brought us this Komatsu PC88MR to demo. It fit our needs exactly and has everything we wanted. Today, we bought it!

Well, the rain has halted operations outside for the time being. Here are a few jobs we've been working on. The storm sewer job's customer wanted to abandon the line that ran through the property (that wasn't done right to start with). This was a fun one - digging right over the water main for about 40ft while crossing buried electric, an unmarked phone, and unmarked fiber lines. We then moved on to help get a 60x100 building pad ready, hauling out around 1200 tons of material and placing around 1200 tons of compacted rock back. We're starting the year off strong. We also tore out this garage floor and poured it back, making this garage look brand new with the addition of the new roof and siding the customer had put on last year.
