Job Title: Welder/Fabricator
Location: Farmington Hills, MI (On-site)
Travel: 25% (Overnight travel required)
Industry: Industrial Heat-Treat Equipment Manufacturing
Employment Type: Full-time
Shift: 8-hour shift
Experience Required: Minimum 7–8 years welding and/or fabricating

Job Summary:
An established industrial heat-treat equipment manufacturer is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join their team. This hands-on role involves fabricating and servicing industrial equipment both in-house and at customer sites. Work includes welding, furnace case fabrication, insulation/brick installation, pipe fitting, and general equipment repair.

We’re looking for a self-motivated individual who is comfortable with travel, eager to learn from job leads, and able to work on a variety of unfamiliar systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Weld mild and stainless steel (pipe, plate, angle)

Fabricate furnace parts and structures from blueprints or drawings

Perform pipe fitting and pipe welding

Install furnace insulation and brick lining

Operate tools and equipment such as MIG/TIG welders, plasma cutters, saws, grinders, drills, forklifts, scissors lifts, and cranes

Conduct general shop maintenance and cleanup

Paint furnace exteriors, piping, and parts

Troubleshoot and repair heat-treat equipment

Communicate repair updates to job leads or project managers

Requirements:
Experience: 7–8 years welding and/or fabricating (required)

Ability to read and interpret blueprints

General mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Strong understanding of shop safety procedures

Willingness to travel 25% of the time, including overnight stays

Ability to adapt to various tasks and work environments

Preferred Qualifications:
Chauffeur's Permit (preferred but not required)

Prior experience with industrial or heat-treat equipment

Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive hourly pay (based on experience and skill)

Overtime opportunities

Per diem travel pay

Company-provided truck and travel expenses (hotel, flights, rental car, etc.)
