After a dry Wednesday and Thursday, there will be multiple chances for showers and thunderstorms Friday through Monday. Plenty of dry time is expected, and no severe weather is in the forecast.

The threat for significant severe weather continues for Monday afternoon and evening across the entire forecast area including very large hail, strong tornadoes, and damaging winds. However, ongoing thunderstorms Monday morning will impact where the worst of the afternoon/evening severe weather occurs. During the morning thunderstorms are expected largely north of I-70 and a few could produce US Quarter-sized hail and localized flooding. Make sure to have multiple ways to receive severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings on Monday!

A storm system will bring through a few rounds of showers/storms on Monday, with much of our area highlighted in an Enhanced Risk for Severe Weather, or level 3 of 5 risk. All hazards will be possible. Stay up to date on the forecast!

⚠️ Severe Weather Alert for Monday ⚠️

Widespread strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Monday afternoon into the early evening. Storms may bring damaging wind gusts, large hail, and even the potential for strong tornadoes.

This is just giving you heads up that these storms are possible. Now is the time to prepare, make sure you have a plan in place to stay safe if severe weather impacts your area. Be weather aware! KHQA

Map looks odd but storms are coming from the west and south currently with more to the north. Quincy, Rockford, Macomb: Storms within the hour are a potential.

Springfield, Moline, Peoria, storms within the next 2 are possible.

We'll update this as much as possible.
