In observance of Juneteenth, Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026.

We are reminded that freedom, equality, and opportunity are worth celebrating and protecting for all.

On June 19, 1865 some 2,000 Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas. The army announced that the more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state were free by executive decree.

Our entire community is invited to the JuneteenthLima 2026 Celebration happening on Saturday, June 20th in Lima's Downtown Square from 12pm to 6pm (Lima Juneteenth Parade). Follow JuneteenthLima for more details.

Welcome to the Ribbon Cutting for the Lima Rotary Club's new mini amphitheater pavilion in Safety City Sponsored By Lima Noon Optimist located oat 700 S. Collett St.

Lima Rotary Club has partnered with Apollo Career Center on the project. Students created the design to resemble the amphitheater Rotary built at the Greater Lima Region Park & Amphitheater and the carpentry class built the pavilion. Rotarians did the landscaping.

“The Rotary Club of Lima is excited to be partnering with Apollo Career Center and the Lima Noon Optimist Club, which sponsors Safety City, on this project,” states Lima Rotary Club President Russ Decker. “Safety City teaches vital life skills like pedestrian and bicycle safety, stranger danger and fire safety, and the Lima Rotary Club is proud to be part of the effort.”

The Lima Rotary Club received a $2,500 grant from Rotary District 6600 to help fund the project. The remaining funds were raised by club members.
