Did you know this week was officially Economic Development Week? We love what we do, and our communities could not accomplish what we do without the support and help of our business and private supporters. Today I would like to recognize the contributions to the Karval community by Triple Oak Power and their upcoming project: Sentinel Clean Power in the southern part of Lincoln County. Attached here is the press release where they have generously donated $7,500 to the Karval Fire District for needed equipment and support, AND $30,000 towards the completion of the Karval Community Building. We have supported this building project over the years, and it soon will be home the Karval Food Pantry. It is truly remarkable to see the support from our future energy investors. KUDOS to Sentinel Clean Power!

We had a GREAT annual meeting last evening with nearly 50 in attendance! We did a work year in review and highlighted sales tax in Lincoln County. Also, we heard from Ed Hooks Jr. regarding 3D printing homes with a tool called Mudbots. We saw many great questions and we wrapped up the evening with a short election. Many thanks to the Moose Roost for catering a delicious dinner buffet! Thanks, everyone, for coming and supporting our efforts in economic development!

Last week on the coldest day, Friday, our housing committee hosted Colorado Rural Homes to tour Hugo sites for affordable housing research. Many thanks to Big Sandy Builders, Sam Emmerling and CHFA representative Trisha Herman for helping host and guide our development conversation! This is a great first-step to gather more specific information to determine development feasibility. Stay tuned as we will continue to provide updates!

Awesome to see this great progress!!

Our contractors, Wild Timber Builders, Inc. (WT Concrete) have started on the interior! Concrete will be poured next week. The project should take around a month. The crew is fantastic to work with and were very open to showing our visitors the fine work they are doing.

We are pleased to see BHV Adventures host a tour of their facility for the Governor's Office this afternoon in Arriba! The crowd viewed an almost-complete tiny home and then adjourned to Big Ben's RV Park where the tiny home community is beginning to take shape! BHV Adventures, a Rural Jumpstart designee, is busy pursuing their tiny home manufacturing business as they bring much-needed economic activity and tax base to the northeast corner of Lincoln County! KUDOS to Ben VanderWerf, his family, and everyone connected to this exciting business enterprise!
