We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to Martin Grain Farms and Chris Martin for their donation of a Hy-Conn hydrant adapter. Adapters are needed to connect our supply hoses to fire hydrants. This new adapter is a new design quick connector which will allow personnel to connect to the hydrant faster than traditional threaded adapters. Martin Grain Farms generosity to the district is very much appreciated. Pictured is Chief Chris Buse and Chris Martin.

At 1435 on 4/8/26, Lincoln Rural along with mutual aid departments were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of 1000th St for a report of a patio/deck that was attached to the residence, on fire. First arriving units found the fire beginning to extend into the back side of the home. The bulk of the fire was brought under control followed by extensive overhaul to the burnt area. Neither the occupants or any personnel were injured during the incident. We would like to thank our mutual aid assistance from Lincoln City, Atlanta, Beason, Mount Pulaski, Chestnut and LCPA.

As spring is right around the corner, there has been an increased amount of controlled burns taking place. While this is an every year occurrence, we would like to stress the importance of being careful when doing so. We have responded to 8 brush fires that have gotten out of control in the last week, 6 of which in the last 24 hours and one that was about 18 acres. Tomorrow there will be an elevated fire risk due to increased winds and low humidity.

When burning, call it into either Lincoln Rural station 217-732-6697 or Logan Dispatch 217-735-5544 to advise of the burn

Remain with the fire, no matter how small, we have had several take off in a short amount of time.

If it starts to get out of hand, call 911 immediately, do not try and just take care of it yourself.

Monitor wind direction to avoid unplanned spread.

At this time our district has not issued a ban, but that could change based on conditions over the next couple of days. Please be safe

As the new year begins, we wanted to share our 2025 year-end video. Just like in years past, we have a combined video with our neighbors at the Logan County Paramedic Association. Thank you to all of our members and their families for the service you provided this year, responding to 900 calls for service.

Today we have the annual privilege of hosting the Toys for Tots give away at the station. It is always remarkable to see the setup prior to the distribution.

Burn Ban Discontinued

At this time the burn ban that was in effect for the district has been cancelled. With the rain earlier this week as well as the cooler damp mornings we feel conditions have slightly improved. Overall most vegetation is still pretty dry, so if you will be doing open burning use caution and monitor the fire. We also require to call the station to notify of open burning prior to starting the fire, 217-732-6697.
