2nd Annual HWY 56 Sales Scramble
Hello everybody! Tish and I are planning on participating in the 2nd. Annual HWY 56 Sales Scramble this weekend. It is from April 23-26 which is Thursday through Sunday. Our sale will be at our building at 301 Main in Lincolnville. We will start our sale on Friday the 23rd, and Saturday the 24th. We will be setting our big signs on by the highway both days. If you would like to participate, you are welcome to contact them at hwy56sale.com to register. The fee is 10.00. You can register on line. You need to do it by this Tuesday the 21st. This will get you a sign for your yard as well as a posting on their website. Your sales will be on your property and the days and times that your sales are happening. We will not be hosting anyone's sale at our building but our own.
We participated in this event last year and with it being the 1st time and crappy weather, it turned out very well! They have expanded it and included new towns in the event. Lincolnville is one of them. The event is explained on their website, and it will answer any questions you have.
This will be a fun event and will bring a lot of people into town. Give it a try!!
This is their Press Release for this event!
Ark Prepares for HWY 56 Sales Scramble’s 2nd Year
Apr 18
Starting Thursday, April 23 and running through Sunday, April 26, residents of towns along or adjacent to Highway 56 can sign up for the Ark’s famous Hwy 56 Sales Scramble. This runs 200 miles—from Kinsley to Council Grove.
“This event is cool because you feel like you’re making a difference in others’ lives,” says Ben Coffey, owner of the Ark in McPherson. “Times are tough, and it’s great to feel like we had a part in promoting more financial success for small businesses.”
Ben Coffey grew up going to different garage sales with his family, and he discovered that Highway 56 didn’t have anything exciting to attend along its route. This inspired the creation of the Hwy 56 Scramble.
“Go at your own pace to whatever towns you want,” Coffey says regarding how the event works. “This is a great way to bring in out-of-towners to the community and support local mom and pop businesses, especially.”
Each person running their garage sale at the Hwy 56 Scramble can sign up for $10 at www.hwy56sales.com and set their own hours. It is a flexible, enjoyable time for hardworking families and business owners. Customers will find odds and ends of all kinds, including clothing, antiques, collectibles, and all sorts of fun treasures.
The Ark takes care of logistics and marketing. This event has been marketed in the Best of KS printed and delivered to doors across KS, two postcard mailing campaigns to businesses and civic leaders on the path, yard signs, multiple radio stations, and on Facebook.
Treat yourself to a leisurely four days of fun with us and support your local businesses at our HWY 56 Scramble.
The deadline to secure a yard sign with a registration was 4-17, but folks can still sign up to advertise their sale or their business through the weekend of the sale. We support procrastinators! 🙂 www.hwy56sales.com

Hello everybody! Joe here with the Pilsen Packrats. As you may know, the building in Hillsboro that we were renting has been sold. We have been moving out for the last 3 weeks. We Finished on November 25th. at about 4pm. We accumulated a LOT of stuff over 3 1/2 years!! We have moved back to Lincolnville for the time being. We have a home and a small building here. The building is too small for auctions, but it does have some storage. It is FULL right now, as is the house! It would make a hoarder blush! We are getting it all put away though.

We ARE still in business. We will be having our auctions back at the Pilsen Community Center in Pilsen Ks. With the move and the up coming Holidays, we probably won't be having any auctions until after the 1st of the year. We are still looking for a building to rent in the area but we're open to anyplace at this time. Also, we will be opening a retail store in our building in Lincolnville here in the near future. Tish is also still making her worm castings and has some available. Worm castings are an all natural fertilizer that works wonders on your plants. She can be reached at 620 323 0347. We also have a cleaning and service business, M&T's Services. We do property cleanup, light repairs & maintenance, debris cleanup, light demo, and junk removal. We have been cleaning repos, foreclosures, and abandoned properties for years. Longer than we have been doing auctions!! We do have references, and we are insured. For more information, call Mark at 620-323-0241 to schedule an appointment or to request additional details.

Lastly, we would like to thank our loyal customers for their support during the last 3 1/2 years in Hillsboro. We met a lot of people and had a lot of fun doing it. Also, Tish, Mark, and I would like to wish you and yours a Very Merry Christmas & and a Happy New Year from the Pilsen Packrat Auctions!

Ooops! 1 more thing. Tina Marie, our official greeter, has been enjoying her time off. Those of you that attended our auctions or shopped in our store, know how hard she worked and how dedicated she was to her duties.......especially if you brought her a SNACK!! I have enclosed a photo of her chilling at home. She's enjoying the time off!!
