Here's a pair of right side Vector Cutz "blueprinted" Hoosier D50A tires for high bite southern tracks running the DNQ Series rules.

We have a proprietary template just for cutting these right sides to meet the DNQ rules leaving the full shoulders on the tire.

For those commenting on a previous Tech Talk Tuesday video saying that balancing doesn't help, isn't needed, or just that I do it all wrong... LOL

Here ya go.
Some photos from this past weekend at the IndyCar race with a few of my friends from Firestone.

Seems that, other than having a good bit higher tech equipment, they balance the same exact way as we do our kart tires! Add weights to the light spot and tape over them. Good for 60mph or 230. :)

Now, what's up with the military vehicle wheel & tire balance... Yikes! THAT'S a lot of weight to add!

Tech Talk Tuesday:

It's another one of our "one-take" videos.

Grooving a "blueprinted" Vector Cutz Hoosier treaded tire for increased sidebite.

This tire has been "blueprinted" (mounted, sized, staggered, cut in a lathe to less than half tread depth, and plateau finish sanded) prior to grooving.)

This video shows grooving the shoulder of the tire around its circumference to give the car more sidebite. Cutting on the shoulder itself also lowers the spring rate of the tire's sidewall which gives the added benefit of more sidebite (grip) without needing to run lower air pressure (which really kills the roll speed of under-powered cars.)

Did you know that we have several templates for our Vector Cutz blueprinted treaded tires?
We currently have 4 "proprietary" templates for the right sides alone! Each template provides a different profile for the contact patch of the tire. Some are rounder than others to provide more sidebite through removing more of the shoulder material which lowers the spring rate, while some are flatter to provide better roll speed and free the kart up more.

Low bite - check.
High bite - check.

We even have a special template for cutting the DNQ Series tires which require a certain tread depth and untouched shoulders.

Bottom line, we have a tire that works for you and your track!

Just sharing a short clip I took of Air Force 1 doing a flyover at the Freedom 250 Indy Car race held in DC recently. The racing wasn't all that great (typical street course,) but the pre-race ceremonies and festivities throughout the weekend sure reminded us of Indy in May!
