Friendly reminder… suppressors just make shooting better.

Less blast. Less flinch. Easier communication. Better for your ears. Better for teaching kids and new shooters. And in my opinion, a better experience in the field.

I’ve always thought of them a lot like the muffler on your truck. Your muffler doesn’t make your truck silent. It just takes something loud and makes it a whole lot more manageable.

Same idea.

I’ve watched it with my own kids. Take away some of that blast and intimidation and they can actually focus on shooting, learning and having fun.

And now there’s a whole lot less federal red tape standing in the way. The federal NFA tax on suppressors is $0, and ATF’s current guidance says it is not enforcing the old prior-approval, registration or tax-stamp requirements for suppressors. State and local laws still apply.

Suppressors don’t make guns silent. They just make shooting better.

The hunt usually starts long before you ever get there.

Check the gear. Confirm the r***e. Put in the reps. Fix what needs fixing. Then do it again.

None of this is the exciting part people usually see—but it’s the part that gives you confidence when the moment finally comes.

Preparation doesn’t guarantee success.

It just gives you fewer excuses when opportunity shows up.

And honestly… I don’t mind hanging around for this part either.

First antelope hunt in the books.

I went into this hunt excited because I really didn’t know what to expect. New species. New country. A different style of hunting. And a chance to be a beginner again.

That ended up being one of my favorite parts of it.

You can study maps, prepare your gear and build the hunt in your head, but eventually you have to put boots on the ground and let the experience teach you.

This one taught me a lot.

I was fortunate enough to take my first antelope, but what I’ll remember most is the experience, the people I shared it with, and getting to learn something completely new.

We filmed the entire adventure for Season 7 of Soul Seekers on CarbonTV, and I’ll be sharing a lot more about what I learned on the Soul Seekers Podcast.
