Every business owner has days when the pressure gets heavy. A slow month, a difficult customer, or a setback can make you question what you’re doing.

That feeling is real—but it doesn’t always tell the whole story.

Passion is the deeper commitment that helps you keep going, learn, adjust, and make thoughtful choices after the emotion of the moment has passed.

I wrote a new article about why business owners need to know the difference between passion and emotion. You can read it on my Substack:

What’s one lesson business has taught you about making decisions under pressure?

Are your ads, social media, and website all working toward the same goal?

Many businesses delegate different parts of their marketing to different people. That can work—but only when everyone is sharing a clear, consistent message.

When your marketing is aligned, you can make better use of your budget and give customers a clearer picture of what your business offers.

As the leader, take a step back and make sure every piece is moving in the same direction.

It’s live! 🎉
I’m excited to share that The Entrepreneurial Playbook: Build a Business, Not a Job is now available on Amazon!

I wrote this for small-business owners who want to build strong systems, grow with purpose, and create a business that doesn’t depend on them for everything. I’m grateful to everyone who encouraged me and helped bring this book to life.

If that speaks to you, check it out here:

Thank you for being part of this milestone! 🙏

Before you ask your family to believe in your business, make sure they understand what building it will require.

Your spouse lives with the late nights, the uncertainty, and the sacrifices right alongside you. Their support matters—and so does your willingness to listen to their concerns.

Entrepreneurship is a family affair. Getting on the same page means talking honestly about money, time, responsibilities, and how you’ll protect your relationship along the way.

I wrote about this in “Entrepreneurship Is a Family Affair.”

“Aaron, I need more Facebook posts.”

Maybe. But what happens when someone looks up your business?

Can they find you on Google or through AI searches? Does your website make your services clear? Do your reviews give them confidence? Is it easy to take the next step?

Four more inspirational quotes won’t fix those problems.

Here’s the order I tell business owners to focus on:

✅ Visibility — Can people find you?
✅ Credibility — Do they have a reason to trust you?
✅ Acquisition — How does that interest become a customer?

Then we decide which channels deserve your money.

Stop treating tactics like a strategy.

Message me “STRATEGY” if you want to talk about where your marketing needs attention.

A handshake can start an opportunity. A thoughtful follow-up can move it forward.

After a conference, referral, website inquiry, or social media message, it’s easy to collect names and assume you’ll remember the details. But a contact’s name and phone number aren’t a pipeline.

Before spending more to find new prospects, ask:
- What problem did this person mention?
- What next step would be useful to them?
- When did I agree to follow up?
A simple spreadsheet or CRM can help you keep track. The key is recording the conversation and putting a date on the next action. “I’ll follow up sometime” is a good intention. “I’ll send them that idea on Tuesday” is a plan.

And make the message personal. Instead of “Just checking in,” remind them what you discussed and offer a useful next step.

Your next customer might not come from a new campaign. It might come from following up with someone who already showed interest.

How much of your day do you spend worrying about a result you cannot control?

Waiting for someone to answer. Checking whether they opened your proposal. Wondering whether that next opportunity will come through.

You cannot make someone say yes. But you can make the next call, start the next conversation, and follow through on what you promised.

Generate enough consistent, purposeful activity, and one “no” stops carrying so much weight.

My latest article explores the law of large numbers and why we need to focus on the controllables.

Control the activity. Let the results take care of themselves.

Are you paying one marketing employee $5,000 a month—and expecting an entire department?

Design. SEO. Video. Websites. Media buying. Analytics. Lead generation.

Your employee could be working their tail off. But effort alone doesn’t give one person expertise in every specialty.

That’s what I call the $5,000 employee question: does your marketing structure give your business what it needs to grow?

In this video, I explain how a coordinated outsourced marketing department can fill those gaps—with specialists, clear responsibilities, and reporting.

Sound familiar? Message me. Let’s talk about what your business actually needs.
