If your business has more than one owner, this is one document I would not ignore. 🤔
A Shareholders’ Agreement, or Operating Agreement for an LLC, is not just legal paperwork.
It helps answer questions like:
🔹 Who gets to make decisions?
🔹 What happens if one owner wants out?
🔹 How are profits handled?
🔹 What happens if there is a disagreement?
🔹 Who can buy, sell, or transfer ownership?
I have seen business owners focus on getting clients, making money, and growing the company, but skip the agreements that protect the business when things get complicated.
And things do get complicated -
Partnerships change. Money gets tight. Owners disagree. Someone wants to leave. Someone wants to bring in a new partner.
Having those conversations before there is a problem can save the business a lot of stress later.
This is one of those “future you will thank you” steps.
Save this if you have a business partner or are thinking about adding one.
