Here’s the finished job that we teased a few weeks ago. First, this was quite a unique project. Second, we don’t do residential, but we made an exception in this case. The client wanted to be able to hear the water wheel inside. Initially, she wanted a microphone & speaker setup. We explained why it was not necessarily the best idea to have a hot mic outside - especially right on the river. We suggested a looped recording of her water feature, cleaned up & processed in our studio as a better alternative. We filtered out the whine of the water pump, any random non desirable noises of the neighborhood & some other tweaks. Inside the client’s home, Radio Design Labs equipment was chosen to fit the needs perfectly. The single gang box speakers, while small in size, are big in sound. They are able to fill each room with lifelike sounds of the water wheel, just like you were sitting outside listening. In a closet, we installed a small control box to house the EQ, power & audio distribution modules, and a digital media player sits nearby to play the recorded audio from an SD card. Special shoutout to Mike’s Electrical Services for doing the in-wall cabling, they do a phenomenal job!
