This week at BNI, our members learned how understanding shingle impact ratings can help homeowners make smarter roofing decisions.
Mike Schleiff with ARStorm Restoration & Roofing explained the differences between Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 impact-resistant shingles, how the UL 2218 impact test works, and why choosing the right roofing system is about more than just the initial price.
One of the biggest takeaways was that while Class 3 and Class 4 shingles cost more upfront, they may help reduce long-term costs through increased durability, potential insurance discounts, and fewer repairs after severe weather.
