Have you ever thought, “If I can make my husband happy, he’ll love me”? We may not say it with our words as much as we do with our actions. Maybe you’ve thought, “If I don’t say yes to this or volunteer for that, these people won’t like me or want to be my friend”. Consequently you’re burnt out because you’ve been busy trying to please others. In one way or another we’ve all hidden our flaws, needs, or wants in order to seem perfect, desired, and/or lovable. With our actions we sometimes live a life from a desire to be filled by people or things rather than by the love of God. We hide our flaws so that we’re “easy to love” and drown our true identity until we’re not even sure who we are anymore. Maybe that’s happened in your marriage, friendships, motherhood, or career?
In this episode we talk to the about the journey that lead her to writing her new book, ‘Brave Love’. She talks about how she got to a place where her identity and her personal life were slowly disintegrating and how God met her in this place. How He restored her marriage and her identity. How he helped her make changes in her life and gave her the confidence to be herself. How she learned that she could be brave and mess up, but God was still going to meet her wherever she was. I think so many of us will be able to see ourselves in her story. Her story is encouraging, inspiring and reminded us of the GOOD GOD that we serve! 💛
Huge thank you Lisa for sharing your heart with us!! 💕💕💕
