It's been too long since our last post - but for good reason. Things have been busy in the M&A Specialists world. Several closings, office relocation, new listings - the first half of '26 has been extremely positive. Here is a rundown of our M&A activity.

1. Sold: $3.6m Tow Truck Company. This company has over 40 years of operational history in this market. The buyers brought cash to the deal and assumed the existing loans in a conventional financing scenario. Here's to another 40 years for this company!

2. Sold: $11m General Contracting Firm. A great company tucked away in Central Arkansas, this deal was educational for us. It was a unique deal, especially with financing. An out-of-state Private Equity company acquired this business with an operator re-locating to take over daily operations. Financing included a $5,000,000 SBA 7(a) loan in a senior position - with multiple seller financing notes totaling the rest in a subordinated position. Great sellers, great company, great buyers & a great deal!

3. Sold: $120,000 Iconic Central Arkansas Coffeehouse. The third time is a charm. This was the third opportunity we had worked with the buyer on - and it turned out to be the right one! A motivated seller, a longstanding business & an iconic brand all blended together like the perfect cup of coffee! The next chapter of this business will be exciting to watch.

4. Sold: $75,000 medical uniform & scrub business in Central Arkansas. This was a straight-up deal - all cash from an out-of-state buyer. Management was in place & stayed in place for the buyer.

5. Sold: $85,000 Online Estate Sales Franchise territory. This business provides a service growing in demand. The buyer realized the opportunity & jumped at it. Financing involved a CD secured loan by the buyer, with a cash downpayment. CD secured loans can be a terrific financing tool in certain situations.

In between closing we've on-boarded some new listings: a specialty franchise retailer, a sporting goods store, an electrical contractor, a franchise e-com business, a manufacturer & a towing company - just to name few. Check out our listings using the link below:

Multiples by Sector 📉

Not all industries are created equal. Professional Services and Healthcare consistently command higher EBITDA multiples than Retail or Consumer Goods.

Knowing where you stand in your sector is step one of valuation.

Deal Size Matters 📊

Average multiples increase as deal size grows. While a small business might sell for 2x-3x, a Lower Middle Market company with $5M+ in EBITDA can see multiples jump significantly.

Size creates stability in the eyes of a buyer.
