To keep a room looking cutting edge incorprate black. Although it is not a bright color it does make a statement, go bold and paint your mantel BLACK! It's in and it's classic, chic and sophisticated!

Tip of the day: For those apartment renters out there that want color but are forced to live in a white box, you can use curtain panels along a wall and transform it into an accent wall, without the paint. There are so many different colors and patterns of fabric out there and the great part is once you get tired you can easily switch them out!
