I love mentoring the next generation of engineers and surveyors!! What a great experience with two of our young engineers speaking to the future graduates about the opportunities that await them in water resources , development engineering and renewable energy !!!

Last week was an incredible experience as K+W's CEO Chuck McCallum and Project Manager Christian Bowen, proud Cal Poly SLO alumni, returned to campus to share their expertise and mentorship with the Society of Environmental Engineers (SENVE), inspiring the next generation of leaders. Along with Project Engineer, Karen Holcombe, the SLO alumni delved into the vital topic of sustainability in civil engineering and land development, shedding light on Kier + Wright's expanding role in water resources engineering and management across California.

Additionally, we shared our involvement in renewable energy development through our affiliate company, KWRE. The highlight of the evening? Discussing the sustainable design practices we're implementing in current land development projects, from enhanced stormwater treatment to innovative black/grey water systems and green roofs. The students' thoughtful questions and engagement truly made the night memorable – here's to shaping a greener, more sustainable future together!

Kier & Wright is now associated with a for the longest orchestra baton . I love Google culture of creativity and innovation to bring together a full orchestra and a surveyor to set a world record !!

Kier + Wright team members Rod Stewart II and Chuy Martinez joined the Google Orchestra for A Concert for the Record Books as they officially measured Google's Guinness World Records™ official attempt for the World's Largest Conductor's Baton.

Rod and Chuy measured the baton with a calibrated Trimble 1 Second Total Station and verified the length with a calibrated engineering tape measure. Measuring at 16' 1 7/8', this baton was announced as the official Guinness World Records title holder for largest conductor’s baton!
