We are a dedicated group of volunteers - both men and women - who have been called with a passion to serve our community. We are always looking for people who, like us, have that passion to serve! We provide FREE fire training and all the tools and equipment you need to provide quality fire, rescue and medical services to the citizens and visitors of our 38-square-mile service area. Elevated Fire Weather Conditions - Polk County
This message is from the Polk County Office of Emergency Management. The Texas A&M Forest Service advises that high winds and low humidity associated with an incoming cold front are expected Friday, October 16th through Monday, October 19th creating conditions that can allow fires to start easily and spread rapidly.

Outdoor burning is not recommended during this time.

Please take extra precautions. Avoid outdoor burning and debris burning, do not toss ci******es from vehicles, avoid parking on dry grass, use caution with equipment that can create sparks, and secure trailer chains that could drag and spark.

Please use caution, as dry and windy conditions can increase the risk of fires starting and spreading.
