Happy Pride, Livingston!
You are loved. Thank you to everyone in our community who stands up for humanity, safety, unconditional love, and acceptance.
Someone once asked us if we are in the business of being q***r because we include the 2SLGBTQIA+flag on our business cards.
I replied, "We absolutely make our q***rness part of our business because we want others to feel safe and we stand for human rights."
Thank you, City of Livingston, Montana, for making the important Pride proclamation. It helps me feel safer knowing there are good people standing up for humanity and setting an example of safety and love!
For those who ask why we have a whole month: we love to celebrate, for one. But more importantly, Pride Month continues because people are still being lost due to homophobia.
I may not always understand how others live, but I never want anyone to be excluded. I also don't need to know about anyone's intimate time with their partner cause its not my business. That doesn't make me afraid or hateful; it makes me thankful for diversity!!
Please take a moment to think about what you say to your friends and family. Ask yourself if fear of the unknown is making you homophobic. If so, there are many ways to learn about the 2SLGBTQIA+ community that would squash all your fears.
2SLGBTQIA+ is a spectrum so broad that even I won't experience it all in my lifetime. But at its core, it's about love and a private, intimate connection that is none of your business.
Happy Pride to my fellow q***r folks. Celebrate and enjoy yourselves.
To my supportive and protective straight friends: your allyship means everything to me and to this community. Please keep being loud and proud of your q***r friends. Keep marching in the streets and keep protecting them!
With love, Tom and Ri Mason
