At Svalinn we breed, raise, and train world-class personal and family protection dogs.

The Svalinn K9 program has developed breeding, tactical conditioning and training techniques that have proven far superior to conventional working dog kennels. Svalinn K9s have proven themselves in multi-force tactical teams in some of the harshest environments in the world — environments in which other K9s and K9 teams have failed.

Cherry is one of two blonde females in the litter of black-coated sisters. She has a flat, medium-length coat and appears to be a perfect cross between Malinois and German Shepherd. She is small in stature, yet slightly larger than Thai and Hatch. Cherry’s obedience is spot on, and she is eager to please. Like many of her Pepper siblings, she is a serious protection dog. Do not let her size fool you. Cherry will be best suited with a single handler or couple with a calm lifestyle.

Sparrow is a lean, medium-build traditional Dutch Shepherd. She looks just like her aunt, Chaos. We refer to her and her sister, Starling, as twins. They are hard to differentiate in appearance. She is neutral about most stimuli (including other dogs) and tends to ignore things that you want her to ignore, especially in town and in hectic public places. Due to her calmness, she will fit easily in almost any family or living citation - a very malleable girl!

As a generalization, the Peppers are serious protection assets. They take their jobs seriously and are appropriate for individuals or engaged families looking for a true working dog. Carolina is one of the largest Pepper girls, still medium in size. She might be the most distinctive of her litter - a lean, long physique, massive ears and piercing yellow eyes. Carolina is very friendly and has lots of energy. Currently Carolina pairs well with male dogs; jury is out on females. As with all of our one-year-old dogs, we are still capturing data. Carolina is the poster child for “excited to greet life every day”. Her obedience is excellent, and she is a solid protector. One handler commented that “Carolina is SO smart.” For anyone looking for a dog smarter than they are, she’s the correct pick!

Happy 1st Birthday to the Birds Litter! 🪶

Lark, Falcon, Sparrow, Loon, Starling, Raptor and Osprey are officially another year older - and all of their full profiles are now available on the website.

Fun fact: Loon is Svalinn dog #400, which was a pretty incredible milestone for us at the ranch. At 20 years, we reached 400 dogs placed with families. That may not sound like a huge number, but it says a lot about how selective we are in our breeding program and how seriously we take the responsibility of raising these dogs.

Every dog we raise has a job to do: to become your family’s best friend and best protector. We put an incredible amount of time, intention, and care into getting them there.

Happy Birthday, Birds!

Drum roll, please! Our Peppers Litter is turning 1 today! 🌶️ Spicy and sweet. 🌶️ Thai, Scorpion, Serrano, Poblano, Hatch, Ghost, Cherry, Carolina and Cayenne. Check out their profiles on our website. Please let us know your favorite Pepper name or profile!

This litter has a little more intensity, a little more drive, and a deep-rooted purpose that sets them apart. They are true working dogs through and through, and watching them grow into that role has been something special.

Stay tuned tomorrow for the Birds Litter birthday celebration. 🥳
