UMatter Week is coming to a close at Novi High School. GLR will be onsite today to crush the four cars that students have been writing on and sharing their feelings about su***de and mental health. Check out the video for a heartfelt message from our CEO, Michael Bassipour, and what this program means to him.

Su***de is the second leading cause of death among those age 10-34 years old. In an effort to bring attention to this issue, GLR Advanced Recycling has teamed up with Novi High School to crush the stigma associated with mental health. We've lined up cars for students to write their feelings on and then we'll crush those cars, and hopefully, the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

Su***de is the 10th leading cause of death in the US. It hits especially close to home for our CEO, Michael Bassirpour who lost his brother Glen to mental illness tin 2010. In an effort to turn a tragedy into something beautiful, he created the “Crush the Stigma” campaign which involves leaving old cars on a school campus and having students write their feelings on the cars. At the end of the week, the cars are crushed to help raise awareness about mental illness and aid in the fight against su***de.

After losing his older brother, Paul Bassirpour wants to help teens who may be thinking of su***de or suffering from mental health issues.

Thank you to our loyal customers and employees for all the support. We look forward to reopening our walk-in retail operations in a few weeks, when it's deemed safe.

Please note that we'll be taking a brief hiatus from our social media during this time.

“For the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.”

Without our team of hard working employees, we wouldn't have a business! So we wanted to take a moment to celebrate by saying we're thankful everyone on Team GRLA!

We could all use a dose of "pawsitivity" right now... Yesterday was National Puppy Puppy Day, so our team members who are working from home thought they'd share their photos of their new "coworkers" with you. 😉
