Rare and almost unknown: Japanese-spec Z432 and Z432R models were equipped with a CDI box mounted underneath the dashboard.

A VERY SPECIAL ARRIVAL AT S30.world: NISSAN FAIRLADY Z432 PS30-00224

Some cars are special because they are rare. Others are special because of what they represent.

Today, we welcomed PS30-00224, an original Nissan Fairlady Z432, to the S30.world Museum.

The Z432 sits at the very top of the early S30 story. Built by Nissan for the Japanese domestic market, it combined the beautiful, lightweight S30 body with the legendary S20 twin-cam, 24-valve, six-cylinder engine — the same engine family that powered the Hakasuka GT-R.

The name tells part of the story: 4 valves per cylinder, 3 carburetors and 2 camshafts.

But to us, PS30-00224 is much more than a specification sheet.

Our goal with the museum is to present the complete story of the S30: different markets, different specifications, competition cars, preserved original cars and carefully restored examples. A genuine Z432 is an essential part of that story.

This particular car gives us something wonderful to preserve, research and share.

We don’t see ourselves simply as owners of these cars. We feel much more like temporary custodians of their history.

Welcome into the museum, PS30-00224.

Another detail from the fascinating — but still not fully uncovered — history of this Nissan Fairlady Z432.

At some point in its life, this Z was fitted with a roll cage.
A hidden clue that raises even more questions about the car’s past.

A PIECE OF NISSAN/DATSUN COMPETITION HISTORY.

A CONVERSION KIT AVAILABLE

We have developed a conversion kit that transforms the original S30 struts into height-adjustable struts, based on the original Datsun/Nissan Sports Option competition design.

FOR ANYONE WHO NEEDS A SET SOONER, EARLY ORDERS ARE ALREADY POSSIBLE VIA info@s30.

The complete DIY kit will officially be available in approximately two months, presented in a beautiful box.

THE KIT INCLUDES: TREADED SLEEVES, ADJUSTABLE SPRING PLATFORMS COLLARS, LOCKING COLLARS, 2 C-SPANNERS, STICKERS AND A COPY OF THE PERIOD CORRECT DATSUN COMPETITION CATALOGUE

For cars after 6-1974 can use a 240Z strut set and have the spacer that was supplied by Datsun/ Nissan. Nissan never made the wider struts that were in the later cars.

Japanese S30 models had different seat brackets compared to US and other export versions. 🇯🇵

This allowed the seats to be mounted further forward — a small detail that reveals the many differences between JDM and export-spec Z cars. 👀🔧

WHERE S30 DREAMS BECOME REALITY
Spent this week in Budapest with the team and went around the Hungaroring to test a partial and technical refurbished S30 of a client and a lot of other S30 stuff like the body work on the Z432 of a client from Australia. So cool! And most exciting the orange in the background is the first official S30-ONE. Also the yellow car we use for engine testing and the blue in the workshop is one of the earliest ever build HLS30’s Don’t forget to see the green first S30-CUSTOM, it is in our new painting facility located in the same building as our new workshop in Budapest

A big secret was hiding beneath the paint. 👀
This rare Nissan Fairlady Z432 had previously been fitted with a three-piece Sport Options spoiler — a piece of its history that was hidden away for years.

Another fascinating discovery in this restoration journey.
