Procrastinators rejoice!
Most business owners know that 1099s and W-2s are due by 1/31 every year. But this year that day falls on a weekend, and deadlines have been extended to the following Monday. Hooray!
According to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), businesses must send W-2s & 1099s by Feb. 2 and provide the transmittal Form W-3 or 1096 to the Social Security Administration (SSA) by March 2, 2015.

This bookkeeper stole to cover the overwhelming wedding costs, including flowers and airfare!

Once again, no oversight or separation of duties was in effect at this company. Bookkeeper was able to write checks to "cash" and use the company credit card for personal costs.

A independent review of all checks and statements would have caught this fraud! Stealing from small businesses is not without victims.
