My heart is happy to see this original oil on canvas, 56x32, of Mitch Williams, Chicago Cubs 89-90, called the Wild Thing for his unique style of pitching, and painted by my beloved David Carl Ristau, going to the home of a true Cub fan today.
David painted for the joy and peace it brought him. He was the truest of sports fans and loved his Chicago Cubs. I love his paintings, but the time has come.
Art is meant to be shared and admired through the ages by those who appreciate it. Sports fans are unique and I know Dave is happy with this decision to have this painting hanging in the home of another true fan of the Cubbies. 👍❤️⚾️⚾️

Wow. Lots of you checking in lately. Some great wines coming out of Lodi these days. I'm still in Florida and thankful for my wine clubs! Y'all are the best. It's easy to find some Michael David (Earthquake and Freak Show) most everywhere, along with several of Delicato brands, but let your fingers go surfing the web and Lodi wineries and you'll find some real treasures you can order and have sent direct. This week's recommendations:

Finally Friday. What a crazy week. Mother Nature got drunk. Trump is back in the White House and I’m in California, with my kids and my ex husband. We are all laughing and happy, hugging and celebrating together. Oh, and my Gmail account quit working and trying to fix it, I deleted every email. All gone. 😳 and I’m not even stressed about it! All rather liberating!
We live. We die. We go through bad times and good. We let ourselves get knotted up over politics, skin color, s*x choices, religion, work, relationships, and a slew of other things that ultimately don’t matter diddly squat. I can’t change anyone but myself- and neither can you. There is peace in my soul today. I pray for God to put peace in yours.
And enjoy a nice glass or two of great Lodi Wine this weekend.

Been visiting Virginia and North Carolina Wineries. Found some faves, but miss my Lodi Wineries, too. If you get to the DC area, visit Stone Tower, Bull Run, Pearmund, RdV Vineyards. When in the Yadkin Valley region of NC, stop by Rayson Vineyards or Shelton Winery. When in Lodi, CA, be sure to visit Harney Lane Vineyards, Bokisch Vineyards, and more. Go. Visit. Explore.

I haven't posted here in forever, but just wanted to pop in and say hello! I've been hanging around northern Virginia wineries, but still get wine delivered from my faves in Lodi. Whatever you drink - drink responsibly and love what is in your glass!

Enjoyed a glass of Harney Lane Primitivo Lot 16 last night - in a wine glass from Viaggio - with my steak, salad, onions and mushrooms in Florida.

Hang in there California! I know you’re all riding these storms out and our wine grape growers are battling the elements, but doing what must be done to take take of those vineyards. My prayers are with you all as you get ready for the 2023 vintages. 🍷🍷
