Coronavirus Prompts Response in HVAC Industry and our contractors can take steps to cut down on airborne transmission.
Please take a minute and read this important message.
As guardians of the indoor air we breathe, HVAC contractors and technicians stand alongside public health workers in the fight against coronavirus (COVID-19). Like the SARS outbreak in 2003, the airborne nature of the new coronavirus (part of the same family of viruses as SARS) puts the epidemic — and its prevention and containment — front and center for HVAC professionals.
For concerned clients, the priority will be keeping your family home, your employees, and your facilities safe. You should be aware of what the available technologies that are available to help you take preventive measures to increases your indoor air quality (IAQ).
1. When changing your air filters use personal protective masks, gloves and eye coverings as instructed by the CDC.2. Removing your indoor air filter with system off and as gentle as to not knock off as much debris as possible, then place immediately in a disposable plastic bag to contain any debris and germs.*Remember your air conditioner/furnace is also your air cleaner. It collects dust, pollen, bacteria, germs unknown infections. It also collects "proteins" which keeps the virus of COVID-19-20-04... alive longer (each indoor environment varies and this all depends on how much the indoor environment is occupied, by who, plus the type of filtering system and other IAQ equipment protection such as UV lighting/humidity controls etc. you have. Our HVAC companies have seen a surge in the past two decades of most indoor environments being occupied more often mostly due to the worldwide web activities. This can add to unhealthy air quality if not treated properly.
We are currently taking a proactive step back to see how this newest of infections reacts to the IAQ HVAC equipment we normally suggest on all new installs, services and maintenance procedures as many of our industry leaders such as ASHRAE recommend and too are without the proper data at this time.
We are currently limiting our HVAC business practices to keep safe both you and our staffs of Air Comfort Systems, Inc., Universal Heat & Air, and HVAConTime.com, Inc. serving only clients which "per medical need" their mandatory air conditioning only while using our personal protective wear at an added expenses for us and passed to you in billing. We are here to offer advice over the phone and text.As soon as we can we will be back to full operations to help fulfill all your HVAC needs in all areas of Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional HVAC.
