Fair Chance Works

Fair Chance Works On one end we offer soft skills, communication skills, and life skills training services to SUD clients and the incarcerated.

Fair Chance Works prepares and transitions clients from addiction recovery centers and detention centers back into our workforce as productive members of society; but with the practical education they need to succeed. We recognize that obtaining gainful employment is a key component of recovery and/or re-entry into society and that placing fair and second chance workers represents a steep challeng

e for the facilities that we work with. These clients often lack the self-confidence needed to obtain gainful employment due to factors which can include poor soft-skills, no work experience, low levels of education attainment, or a lack of working with others. Our systemic approach helps clients take better ownership of their recovery, lets them progress at their own pace, and supports their professional growth throughout the recovery process. On the other, we are developing a network of second and fair chance work opportunities and providing businesses with a larger, often more reliable labor pool. Our unique approach to training allows us to reforge how our clients see themselves, their future, and their place in society in a more vibrant light.

Hey Kentucky and hello world,

Our company is a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) that has been working hard behind the scenes to develop curriculum, technology, and a system to support second and fair chance hiring... We hope to have happy updates for you in the future, and will begin interacting with those we serve online in addition to the visits we've been making to local recovery and detention centers.

For now, we're stepping on to the social media scene with a bang in our local community: by holding a completely free job fair, community resource forum, & expungement clinic in London-Laurel County, KY. Every noteworthy event deserves a fun name, so we’ve decided to call ours “WORK FORGE,” an ode to our tagline and hopes in ‘Reforging America’s Workforce.’ It's like Lollapalooza, but more like Jobapalooza, since we're lacking in trendy band gigs... for now!

This event is open to all who are interested in the region, but we'll have special resources available to those recovering from Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and those who are justice involved or have criminal backgrounds. Details below and on the flyer!

If you would like to support this and other initiatives via donations or volunteer work, please contact us through our website or go to the registration page!
