Unpopular opinion: Stop trying to “New Year, New Me” your way through January. Let’s be honest: setting a “New Year’s Resolution” in the dead of January is biologically rude. It’s why we usually quit by February. You’re not lazy; you’re just trying to plant seeds in frozen ground. That’s not a lack of willpower; it’s just bad timing.
If you feel “behind” because your January didn’t look like a montage, here is your permission to stop fighting the seasons. If you want to actually see your goals through this year, stop fighting the seasons and start using 90-Day Sprints. 90 days of focus, synced with how your brain and body actually want to move.
🌸 SPRING |The Real New Year | When the sun actually shows up, so does your motivation. This is the time for renewal. Start the fitness routine, learn the skill, and purge the digital/physical clutter.
☀️ SUMMER | High-Octane Action | This is the season of “doing,” not planning. Use that extroverted energy for networking, finishing projects, and saying “yes” to the things that move the needle.
🍂 FALL | The Harvest | That back-to-school feeling is real. It’s time to tighten up. Audit your finances, pivot your career, and shift from play back to productivity.
❄️ WINTER | The Work Behind the Work | Ignore the pressure to “crush it” immediately. Winter is for reflection and rest. Use this time for journaling, reading, and designing the roadmap. You’re hibernating, not hiding.
Stop trying to harvest in the winter and plant in the fall. Work with the cycle, not against it.
The Bottom Line: If you aren’t ready to sprint on January 1st, don’t panic. The Spring Equinox is the biological “New Year”—you’ve got time to prep.
